Add a store and check its stock

Create another location without confusing its inventory with your existing store.

Give the location a clear identity

With the necessary settings permissions, open Settings > Stores and use the add action. Choose a name staff can recognise, such as Downtown or Riverside, rather than relying on identical store names.

Enter its relevant contact/address details and choose the required account. Review the available receipt header/footer and any store price-group setting. Save the store as active when it is ready to use.

Switch before recording stock

  1. Select the new store in the workspace's store selector.
  2. Check the product catalogue, currency and applicable prices.
  3. Record stock actually held there through the supported opening-stock, received-purchase or transfer workflow.
  4. Give staff access to the new store and test that access separately.

The catalogue is shared, but each store's stock is separate. Creating a location does not move stock there or copy the quantities from your first store.

Make a small check before opening

In a dedicated test workspace, transfer 2 units from a store holding 10 to a store holding 0. Without other movements, the quantities should become 8 and 2; the business still holds 10. Check both the transfer reference and each store's quantity.

For product lists that show a combined quantity, apply the store filter before promising availability to a customer. A business-wide total does not tell you which shelf holds the item.

Keep expansion controlled

Monthly and annual billing include the same current product capabilities without subscription limits on stores, products or staff. That does not remove role permissions, stock checks or practical file/report limits.

Use staff permissions, stock transfers, and store comparisons before adding the wider team. Read the multi-store overview for the complete journey.
