Match columns, review errors and check the result before importing a larger catalogue.
Prepare your file
Use CSV, XLSX or XLS, up to 5 MB and 1,000 products per file. Start with a small sample. Keep product codes as text so leading zeros are not lost. Remove unrelated worksheets and avoid formulas for values you need to import.
AI-assisted file cleanup is planned, not available in this release. The current import uses column mapping and validation.
Preview and import
- Open Products > Import Products. Use Download template if you need a starting file.
- Choose your Product file and select Continue.
- Under Match your columns, choose the worksheet, header row and number format. Match your product fields to the correct columns.
- For Existing product codes, choose Update mapped fields, Skip existing products, or Stop for review.
- Review the opening-stock store choice. Do not map opening stock when you only intend to update existing names or prices.
- Generate the preview, correct the reported errors, then start the import when the preview matches your intent.
- Wait for Import complete, then select View products and check several records.
Expected result
The completion summary shows what was imported. Failed validation must not leave a partially committed product batch. Existing-product stock is not reset by treating an imported opening quantity as a new current balance.
If the import stops
An expired preview needs a new upload and review. If a job is queued, wait for its result rather than submitting the same file repeatedly. Keep the import reference when contacting support. Use Not imported for fields you do not want changed.
Legacy customer, supplier and stock-count imports use their own templates; they do not share this product mapping experience. Add a product manually when you need to check the field meaning first.
